Reflecting on One Year!

One year ago, we turned a lifelong dream into a reality and what a journey it’s been. From intimate gatherings to milestone celebrations, we’ve had the honor of bringing your visions to life with creativity, care, and heart. Thank you to our incredible clients, supporters, and vendor partners for trusting us with your most meaningful moments. Here’s to many more years of making memories together!

To explore our first year in greater detail, we’re excited to share a Q&A featuring none other than ourselves!

What major goals did you achieve this year?

I got my business off the ground with really no professional help. I had vendors and small business owners in the industry I could turn to, but I did all the research myself and saw every single part of my business come together on my own.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

I booked five weddings in my first year of business.

What positive changes have you noticed in your business or yourself?

Initially, I wasn’t sure I could do this and really stick with it, but I feel much more confident now and know I can achieve my goals and pursue whatever I want.

What were your top moments of the year, and what made them significant?

Getting published in VoyageOhio Magazine, taking a deep breath after coordinating my first wedding (as a business owner), and being so proud of the work I accomplished.

What were the biggest obstacles or setbacks you faced?

Keeping up momentum when you aren’t getting any leads.

What were your biggest challenges, and what did you learn from them?

Staying consistent on social media. This is sooo much work, and there’s always some new trend going around. I learned that scheduling content ahead of time is a win for me. Also, to take more content from my daily life/experiences and use that for content.

What tasks or aspects of your business did you find draining or frustrating?

Writing contracts. I’m not good with legal jargon so that was all new to me.

What areas need improvement, and how can you address them?

Social media. I’m highly considering hiring this out, which would help with consistency and planning.

How has your business evolved in the past year?

It’s become more than a pipedream. It’s an actual LLC which is just crazy!

What has been your biggest success, and how can you leverage it?

Booking my first gig entirely on my own without being recommended. Which goes to show that social media really is your best friend.

What new insights have you gained about your customers and their needs?

Although wedding planning is so personal and unique to each couple, there are some basic ideas/planning that will be the same for everyone. Keeping couples on task and aware of what’s coming next has been a game-changer for me.

What changes would you make if you could start the year over?

Nothing. I really truly think that everything worked out exactly as it should’ve.

What new goals do you want to set for the upcoming year?

I would like to book a couple of non-wedding events.

I would like to book a table at a wedding show.

I would like to be featured in local ads.

What did you learn about yourself as a business owner?

That I CAN do this. It’s so intimidating starting out (and it still is!), but I know that I can do whatever I put my mind to.

What did you learn about your business and the industry?

There has to be something that sets you apart from the rest of them. I had to find what was unique to my business and my brand, and really sell that idea.

What personal strengths have been most useful to you?

  • Being  organized

  • Being open and honest with my clients

  • Frequent and helpful communication

  • An eye for design

  • Creativity
